Restoration

Praise God for restoration in our marriage!

The devil had come in recently and stirred the pot in our relationship, whispering his rubbish in our ears and sadly I believed him. I allowed his voice to echo some of the past hurts and bring it all rushing back to the surface. After calming down and spending some deep, quality time with my Heavenly Father in prayer and then talking to my husband I was able to process and find out what really was happening with him and temptation. He explained that he had not looked at porn, he had not been looking at pictures or anything however, it was a post in our newsfeed that mentioned something like "200 pound woman loses weight, see her now" and usually that wouldn't have even made him think to go and have a look. Well, this time he did but Holy Spirit spoke very clearly to him and he was able to catch it before it became anything. It's not that he's caught up in sin but he's noticed the need to not get complacent with the battle. Thank you Jesus for the clarification and removing the scales that were temporarily over my eyes.

Also, beyond that both of us have been sick with the flu and so the enemy has just been trying to attack us from every which away. Well, devil and your demons BACK OFF IN JESUS NAME, you have no right and no authority over our lives because WE are children of God.

The one thing that was amazing through this journey is that it led me to be more deliberate in praying over our marriage and my husband regularly. I had become complacent in this area. It wasn't a regular occurrence anymore as the years had gone by and the healing took place. So, I'm actually thankful for this little slip up as it keeps us on our toes, reminding us to never get too comfortable.

It also brought to the surface some of my own personal struggles around self image and my identity being firmly grounded in Jesus so that's my area of focus that The Lord continues to help me in this area.

I love my husband and he loves me. I know that I know that I know, that he has Jesus front and centre in his life. Thank you Jesus!

Overcoming Fear

Hi blogger-sphere!!!

Recently my husband and I returned back to our old hometown (Adelaide) where there are many happy and sad memories that we created together. It has been 2 years since we had been there as we were on a healing journey from the adultery that took place in our marriage in that particular state. For a long time I could never see myself returning there and had a strong distaste for the state I was born in due to the sin that took place there BUT today I come with amazing news!!

Between the 5th of July 2015 and the 12th of July 2015 we went back to face our demons whilst overcoming fear and the strongholds that place held. WOW God is so so good!! I mean I hated that place with a passion and the people that were involved in the adultery that live there also. All I can say is that I faced it head on and through the power of The Holy Spirit I no longer hold anger, hurt and bitterness towards the place and the people. Praise God!! As I walked around my old stomping ground I truly experienced freedom and saw that it's just a place. The place isn't to blame, it's sin that caused my hurts. I tell you what, it was amazing to spend time with family and friends and be reunited with our loved ones. All though we don't see that place as home anymore, it will always hold fond memories. The sin covered memories are dead and buried on the cross and the people involved are strangers to us now but also they are children of God. Simple. I'm no longer tied down to the past, I have been freed by Gods grace, kindness and mercy. We truly enjoyed ourselves there. All though, the weather was freezing and not something we are use to anymore since we've been living in the NT. We were glad to overcome that hurdle and no longer be hindered by past events that clearly should have never happened and were a plan of satan himself. God didn't want these events to happen but he sure as heck used them to bring us closer to him.

I want you all to know that there is hope and healing beyond the affects of adultery in your marriage. You can live beyond it. You don't have to be a victim forever, you can be a true survivor who no longer wears the wounds because Jesus can and will heal them completely so long as you surrender it all to him and choose to follow him.

The 15th of September 2012 was the day my husband confessed the adultery and his brokenness and I thought this day would be an ugly reminder for the rest of my life of what nearly destroyed our marriage but I have to say, it's now the day of my husbands freedom!! It's the day that God freed him from sin and the day I got to see the real man that he is.

You see, I knew way before this date that something wasn't right in fact years before as The Holy Spirit set my alarm bells off many times but until September 2012, it was a very heavy burden that my husband was carrying by himself. What he didn't realise is that Jesus was there when those sins took place. Jesus mourned for my husband and the affects his choices were having on himself, his family and the others involved. God wept as he saw his lost son (my husband) committing such grievous sins against God, himself and I and he couldn't leave him in it forever so bit by bit God chipped away at the wall my husband had around his heart and the scales on his eyes until one day, he just couldn't take it anymore and he hit rock bottom. The day he hit rock bottom was the day he found true freedom. THANK YOU JESUS!! I thank you my Lord that you loved my husband and I so much that you couldn't leave us in sin and that you have walked by our side through this whole journey whilst renewing our hearts and minds. I love you my Lord Jesus, we love you!!

Freedom feels amazing and to know that my heart and soul has been made right with God brings me such peace and joy. I pray you too get to experience the kind of freedom I'm experiencing today. Love conquers ALL!

Until next time,

Happy New Years

Hi blogger sphere, Happy delayed New Years! Where shall I start? Well, CHRISTmas was a fantastic time shared with friends and family eating and being Merry. Whilst we shared this special time of year with believers and non believers my husband and I spent the day being thankful for our Lord and Saviour. It was great! God is so good.

Fast forward to New Years Eve and I have to say that it was a spiritual struggle during the day and the pain of past sins was ever so clear so I spent most of the morning praying, crying, sleeping and repeat. I then spoke to a beautiful Godly friend who prayed for me and talked me through my struggles and helped me to decide to go out to the parties I was invited too. I dragged myself off the couch and got ready to go out and I must say once I was out with my husband all the worries just seemed to wash away the more I focused on the cross and being around other people the freer I became. Thank you Jesus!!! My husband and I brought in the new year surrounded by wonderful people and there was even a God appointed moment where some other ladies shared the struggles of sin and the impact it has had on their relationships. I can say that God gave me an opening to discuss in great detail my testimony and the struggles but also share my Saviour who has walked along side me through it all.

I can say that through the many images or bible scriptures I've read that 2014 is our year of reaping from what we've sown through sweat, blood and tears. Let's just saying I'm excited and anticipating the many blessings coming our way. I will be honest though, there are times where I wonder when or if it will all come to pass but then I remind myself or the Holy Spirit does and I remember to just trust in The Lord because he will make all our paths straight and he is turning this all around for my good.

There has been a lot going on these past couple months with being ridiculed for being an outspoken believer at work, to the point where I handed in my resignation because work is work but God is life or death to me and we stand firm in our faith. As you know this job is quite new as well so that would have been a bit sad but this is the world we live in now. Non believers talk about tolerance all day long but yet when a Christian is an outspoken believer they become intolerant. Interesting isn't it? Anyway, then the enemy was trying to cause more issues at work which he was successful at for a bit but God swooped through and saved me from all of that ridiculousness. All I can say that, we are coming up against a lot of adversities which tells us that we are in the right place because firstly God sent us to this remote location and secondly the enemy is pissed that God now has willing tools he can use to help save the masses through us. There has been laughter and tears at the enemies attacks but either way we are not leaving this place until God says so. As for the job, if this one isn't the one that is absolutely fine by us because there are many more jobs here. Since it's through Gods will we can continue to see many miracles happen here.

Local ladies have been coming to me and opening up to me about the sins that are within their marriage and the devastating pains they are having to endure. It's amazing that God is sending these people my way so that I can direct them to Jesus! I love it! Also, we've been able to bless a family we met in Indonesia  through the financial blessings God has given us. We've also helped provide some of the local families here with food and necessities. God is wonderful and I'm so thankful that he's blessing us so we can bless others.

I'm enjoying these 3 weeks holidays and in all honesty I'm not looking forward to going back. I love just hanging out with the locals, chatting and being a blessing to them. I don't feel like working in a child care centre is actually my calling so I'm waiting very impatiently.... Forgive me father, for his redirection.

Anyway, I will do my best this year to keep this up to date as much as possible.

May God bless you throughout this coming year!

Freedom to start over

The past few weeks had been quite a struggle for me up until about 4 days ago. I kept asking God "when will this suffering end? I cannot keep going on like this. It's too much. I poured out my heart and let God know that I know that he loves me and has a plan to prosper me however, I don't think I can hold on much longer. After many sleepless, teary eyed nights I woke up one morning and a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. Thank you Jesus!!!

I've realised today that I have the freedom to start over in my marriage because Jesus paid the ultimate price for me and when he said "it is finished" he meant it is finished. I no longer need to feel the depths of pain caused by sin. I no longer have to see myself as a victim because I'm not a victim, I'm a survivor and I'm a child of God who has the exact same Holy Spirit dwelling in me as Jesus had within him many many years ago. I no longer want to or need to be tied down by past hurts because I can let go of them and let God so that is what I'm going to do. Today I take a stand and through the strength, guidance and wisdom of my Heavenly Father I will be free to love and trust my husband again because I can trust that God has healed him from the inside out. I choose to trust God with my life even when it seems hopeless. I can guarantee that I will not do it perfectly but I will do my best and I know that, that is enough for my Heavenly Father because he will do the rest. Life is a funny thing you know and until you go through something seriously life altering you do not realise how much you were taking for granted. It's as if through our trials we gain wisdom, freedom, identity when we choose to lean into The Lord and we gain a new perspective on the way we were once living. The storm my marriage endured was excruciating and I would never want to re live it or wish it upon anyone else but sadly we will all endure something in our lives that stretches us. It's just a matter of how we cope with those moments when they come. If I could give you any advice at all, do not run from your storm, lean into it, go through it. Experience every emotion that comes with it. Process it and lean in towards Jesus. When you are ready you can then let go but know that God is in control. Know that you will never be the same you as you left behind before the storm but you can be a better version of yourself if you put in the time, patience and endurance.

May God watch over every single on of you and help you on this journey to be more like Christ.

God Bless,

Freedom comes with forgiveness

When God shows you favour...

Have you ever experienced extreme storms in your life and during that storm you've leant in closer to our amazing creator to then only be shown unmerited favour? Well, I can say that 6 months ago I would have never thought he would bother to bless me ever again since my marriage was in the biggest mess it could possibly be in. As I sit here and look back on the blessings in my life during this past year of trials I'm starting to clearly see where Gods hand has been. I can honestly say before today it has been quite difficult to see any such blessings because the pain and suffering was blocking my view however, today there is a little light shining through.

Heavenly Father, I just want to thank you for always being in control of our lives and always having a plan beyond our own thought restrictions. I thank you for salvaging my marriage from the depths of hell and I thank you that in your word we will receive double for our trouble. I'm learning to trust you and to trust that this time of discipline is for my benefit. I want to thank you for blessing me with my husband and helping me to be more like you during our trials together. I thank you for the growth I'm seeing so clearly in him and I thank you for beginning to remove the "hurt scales" from my eyes so that I can see the man I love so clearly as well as myself being your beautiful blessed daughter. I also want to thank you for never leaving me, nor forsaking me and having a plan to see me prosper beyond my wildest dreams just as long as I keep relying on you. I'm sorry for the times I try to take control of the reins time and time again but I thank you that you do not get angry with me and stay by my side whilst walking me through it. I thank you for blessing us with this new and wonderful adventure we are currently on and that you answer even the smallest of requests. You continue to amaze me and you do it so quietly that I could easily miss your blessings if I don't keep my eyes and heart focused on you. Thank you for bringing this awareness to my heart. I love you daddy in Jesus name, Amen!

As you can see I've just had a significant revelation so I had to take the time to acknowledge that. Thank you Jesus!

May God Bless You All,

Growth beyond measure!

Life As We Know It

It has been quite sometime since I have written a blog and as I have a few spare minutes I thought I would update you all out there. So, we officially moved interstate to a very remote indigenous community as we felt God was leading us in this direction with many obvious hints along the way. I gained employment out here prior to leaving our home and it has been a once in a lifetime opportunity. My husband joined me 3 weeks later after my arrival as he had to finish up with work, house and getting every thing squared away. We have been back together for a month now and I have been here for almost 2 months, wow time flys.

So, what can I tell you about this amazing, remote place? Well, first of all there are approximately 3000 people currently living here and of that 3000 only 300 are non-indigenous. For a change I'm part of the minority and honestly I quite like it that way! We have access to basic shops and we access them generally by foot. The main language spoken here is murrinh-patha which my husband and I are very interested in learning. We have learnt a few basic, key words but plan to extend on it. We are really enjoying getting to know the people and their unique culture. I can say that this experience  has been a huge eye opener for me. It truly puts something's in life into perspective. It has made me realise just how much we as westerners take for granted.

All though I'm still struggling with parts of the past and at times losing sleep over it all, I realise it is the enemy attacking my mind because he truly doesn't want to see God succeed but we are praying and believing for our huge miracle so that we can finally be free from the hurt and pain once and for all. Our home life has had some seriously rough moments but we just love it out here and I'm settled in my soul that this is where we are meant to be. This is home and we are relying on God for our breakthrough. We are staying quite busy now which is keeping my mind occupied which doesn't leave room for the enemy as much which is great. We are staying strong together and we are definitely enjoying each other's company as we work together too, which we just love. Out here there is only a Catholic Church and all though we have visited just to experience it, we don't feel it's the right place for us as non denominational or closest to Pentecostal believer and followers as we are so we do church at home by reading the bible together, daily devotionals and podcasts so that has been a great help.

All in all we are loving it out here and still just finding our feet but it's coming into wet season now so this will be interesting also. Well that's it for now so I will keep you posted when I get the chance.

God Bless,

One Year To Date

September 15th 2013. A year ago to date my life was flipped upside down and inside out. As I sit and reflect on the hardest year of my life, grieving all that was lost and thinking of my Heavenly Father who truly has sustained me, picked me up when I couldn't stand and held me tightly during many sleepless nights I just want to use this time to truly thank God for loving me so much. My marriage has gone through one of the biggest tests I could imagine and yet here we are a year after confession still in this partnership. All though distance is currently between us due to work we are both feeling the depths of the pain caused and realise just how blessed we are to even be in this fight together.

Today for me, has a double meaning to it because in one hand it's my husbands day of freedom. To never be trapped ever again. In the other hand it's where what I thought was a beautiful life and marriage with general bumps in the road became something unrecognisable. Today I'm going to let the pain be as real as it is and the victory as real as that is as well. It's all in Gods hands and honestly who else's hands would I rather it be in!?! He is the creator of all, they are some pretty safe hands to entrust it too I recon.

Life will continue to go on and one day very soon I hope there will not be a sting to this chapter of our lives. God has big plans for us which he has already put us on the path to helping the less fortunate. I know deep down that I will be okay, we will be okay but for now I'm just going to BE....

I pray for all the marriages going through something, their very own trials. May you trust God with all of it, surrender it to him and ask him to come in heal and restore the broken parts. He already knows what you need, he's just waiting to hear from you. He loves you so much he sent his only son to die for all of us. Isn't that amazing!!!

God Bless you all,

Broken hearts become healed hearts!

Update

Hi folks, sorry I've gone quiet lately. Just working on the house. Getting the painting completed and tidying up the yards. A quick update, we have a few people looking at the house on Saturday the 17th of August so the coming week will be in preparation for the open inspection. Our plans are still to go on our working holiday so this is looking promising. God is at the centre of all of it and its in his hands.

I hope all my readers out there are doing well and I realise what may have drawn you to my blog posts was that it was based on Gods miracles in my life and the marital healing that is taking place. My husband and I are struggling a little at the moment and I believe we are being attacked on a spiritual level by the enemy because he doesn't like when we grow closer to God and one another. We've been taking communion for about a week and a half now so ill keep you posted but I'm learning to trust God through all seasons of my life and know that he has our best interest at heart.

God Bless,

Changing Roles

Today's post is simply about something that has happened recently in my life and boy it's a miracle. It's just some of the over flow from my husband and I handing our lives back over to Gods very capable hands. I know, our lives were never our own but it's funny how sometimes we can try to pretend like they are and that we have a handle on things haha. Anyway, if you've been reading my blog from the start you maybe aware that my husband and I have been going through a really rough season these past 10 months, all though things are becoming more settled only through the grace of God. For the past week my husband has begun to like cooking! I know it seems so small and not worth acknowledging but if you really knew my husband you'd know that this is a MIRACLE. He and I have always been food lovers in the eating sense but lately my husband has found joy in cooking. It started out at his work where he would bake cookies and cakes for the children but he would bring me one home most times because he knew I would enjoy it. Then just two days ago he decided that he wanted to cook dinner and dessert and of course as the main food provider I was more than happy to have a break from standing over the stove. It's really not important as to what he cooked but that he is doing it simply because he had a revelation of what it means to be like Christ is to the church. There has been a clear message in all the sermons he has been listening to recently about roles within a marriage and what it truly means to be a leader within a household. The bible states that husbands are to love their wives and wives are to respect their husbands. My husbands revelation is truly showing his deep love for Christ and for me. He's serving me, showing me acts of kindness and not just because he wants something out of it but simply because he wants me to feel appreciated and loved. He's also seen what price Jesus had to pay for his sins and realises just how much he has to be thankful for. He's not the only one that has had a revelation. Through his acts of kindness I've experienced what it means to be a daughter of the most high. An heir to the throne. My heart has experienced a new level of healing through his willingness to be selfless. I'm so appreciative for my husband and I have gained a new level of respect for him. Not for the act itself but the intent in his heart. You see men, you treat your lady like royalty and not just for some twisted sense of self gain, it will pay off!

I will say that the meals were absolutely stunning! Amazing tasting foods. It's become a new hobby as he's been cooking the last 2 days and plans to cook tonight.

I'm just so thankful for the growth in the both of us. My husband is my treasure sent from heaven as well and I'm thankful that God could see what amazing potential my husband and I had and deemed us worth saving. Thank You Jesus!

God Bless,

Fit for a Princess!

Adventures To Be Had

Hey everyone, so it's been a few days since my last blog because my husband and I have been in deep discussion about the future, our desires and plans. One thing you need to know about us is that we LOVE to travel. I mean it! We absolutely love to travel. We have been quite a few places together and separately in our lives and since children are currently not in our plans as we are waiting on God's timing in this area we've decided to take advantage of this time we have. As you may know from previous blogs, my husband and I have been in a REALLY rough season of our lives this past year and it's coming up to our 1 year anniversary in September of when things began to spiral out of control for us. We have had some extreme lows, we've had to face some seriously ugly truths and we have had to rely 100% on God to heal us and bring us through this season to full restoration. It has been tough! What I can say is that we both now feel like we need a season of FUN. A season to make new memories together. To rebuild our marriage from the brokenness it had to endure and it's only through Christ that this is even possible. So, we have decided to pack up our house, rent it out, sell one of our cars and begin a new adventure! We are both so excited!!

At the beginning of this painful season I wanted so badly to just run away and escape my troubles however, my husband and I were given wise counsel to not make any rash decisions for 12 months and to grin and bare it. You see had we of left when I wanted to, we wouldn't have faced the demons in our closet and we would have carried the ugliness around with us so I'm definitely thankful and proud that we stuck to the healing journey because now that it is time to pack up for an adventure my conscience is clear. I know that we aren't doing it to escape anything. I realise no matter where we go this season will always exist in our past but it no longer has to control my present and future so this is why it's time to start making new, beautiful memories together. Putting ourselves out there to experience the wonders of the world. So, the plan is to do a working holiday throughout Australia! I know right!?! How amazing!

The other thing we've had a recent revelation of is that we will be like missionaries, travelling around and having the opportunity to spread the Gospel and share our testimonies  all for the benefit of our Heavenly Father. All though we will not be attending our home church we will have the opportunity to experience many others throughout Australia and when we are out of reach in the outback we will have podcasts and of course our bibles. I will keep you posted a long the way as we go as I believe that this blog will become the place we share testimonies of the people we come in contact with etc.

As for now though, it's just a lot of organising ahead. You know, selling the car, getting the house up to scratch and putting it on the rental market, finding work (which we've already got a pretty good idea of the jobs we want to work) and getting some finances behind us. I'm sure it will take us all the way to September just to get things some what organised but nevertheless it's all very exciting.

If I go a little quiet for a while just know that it's because I maybe painting walls or organising things for our trip.

God Bless,

Adventure Warrior!

Who Am I?

Co Campbell - Conquerer

Today I've decided to sit down and ask myself the hard questions I've never had to confront before such as; who am I? What are my hopes and dreams for the future? With life's losses, how will I move forward to the best life I can have? What are my goals and aspirations?

The previous post was about being a "Godly wife in an UnGodly world" which is the cause of today's post. With insecurities and fears flooding my world I've lost perspective of who I am. When my marriage life was fine or at least not as drained as it is now I was full of love, life and laughter. I was confident and I enjoyed what life had to offer however, since the tsunami hit my marriage front I've been tossed around in the waves. I've lost perspective, I've lost my confidence, I've lost my love for life and all it has to offer. It's as if the tsunami swept in and stole my joy, stole my confidence and it seems it stole my hope for the future. Who am I? And where did I go?

I understand as a Christian I should be able to confront life's issues with "hope" insight and that my life shouldn't look similar to the non believer because of God's amazing grace. However, some of life's tsunamis can truly knock us off our feet to the point where we lose perspective. I've been knocked down but I will not stay down. You see that's the difference, non believers may not dust themselves off and get back up because honestly what do they have left to get back up for? When you are facing lifes trials as a believer you have strength that goes far beyond yourself, you become resilient through Christ who gives you strength.

So, who am I? Well, I'm a believer. I'm a precious child of God. I am his princess. I am his image bearer. I am a Saint. I am forgiven. I am beautifully and wonderfully made. I am accepted. I am gracious. I am loved. I am a wife, daughter and sister. I am a friend to many.  I'm learning that I'm valued and valuable to God. I'm learning that I have many emotions but they are not who I am. They are expressions that can be controlled. I am ME!

I'm adjusting to my new not so "fairytale" life. I'm learning to accept that people don't always live up to our expectations and that's okay because we are all human and we all stumble and fall at times.

What are my hopes and dreams for my new life? My hopes and dreams are that through this life altering experience I come out in a much closer relationship with my Heavenly Daddy and my husband in a bond that cannot be broken. I hope that I will be able to stand firm in my identity in Christ no matter what life throws at me as I will not be easily pushed or shoved in any direction. I hope to be full of joy, love and compassion for others and myself.

How will I move forward? Well, one small step or crawl at a time keeping my eyes set on Jesus. If I get knocked down, I will get back up again. I will have this victory in Jesus name. I am not a victim, I am a survivor.

What are my goals and aspirations? To live out the best and most fulfilling life I can that glorifies my God. I want the marriage I have always desired and I will not take anything less because Jesus knows the desires of my heart and the suffering I've had to endure and he knows what's best for me. I want my children that has been promised. I will not let those who've hurt me steal the desires of my heart.

This morning I woke to anxiety, fear and insecurities about going out into this big bad world and being afraid that everything I've ever worked hard for was destroyed by others sinful choices but then it hit me. I haven't lost anything. In fact, those people who were trying to steal my joy are "bottom feeders".

"Bottom feeders will always try and eat up all the crumbs of your lunch. They may get a nibble or two but they will never have access to the whole buffet."

What I mean by this is that people may try to take things from you that are rightfully yours and they may sneak their way in a little but they can never have it all because it belongs to you. Like my marriage, it has been ordained by God and people and/or the enemy may want to destroy it or take from it and they may successfully get in through a small crack but they will not be able to destroy it simply because it's in Gods hands and now built on a firm foundation. I think the important thing I need to remember is that a person willing to take the crumbs obviously has a low self worth or Christ worth and really needs my compassion and grace. I can show grace because I've been shown grace. I will stand united with my husband on the front line looking up to God for direction and we will survive this fall.

So who am I? Well, I'm a woman growing in leaps and bounds who still has fears but will not let them rule over me through Christ who gives me strength.

God Bless You!

Finding my way back to ME!

Off Topic Friday - Organic is the word!

Hey folks, so today is another one of those blessed days where I get to just talk about anything I feel that is important whether relevant to my walk in faith or not and today I'm going to talk about my newfound love for ALL things ORGANIC!! That's right, my husband and I have jumped on the organic bandwagon. I never thought I'd see the day but it has officially arrived. It's amazing how when you start putting things in God's order for your life other areas seem to follow. We have had this strong conviction in the area of produce and what we are putting in our bodies. As a person of faith, our bodies really are a temple and they need to be treated as such.

As I began to dive more into the reasons why we should go organic, I've come to the conclusion that not only is it safer for you and healthier but it's also a great way to support your local farmers. Times are getting tough everywhere financially and what better way to try help out those who ACTUALLY care about what we put in our bodies! These amazing organic farmers have to jump through so many extra hoops than those who use the pesky pesticides on our foods so I feel it's important to support them.

So, yesterday I picked up my very first EVER Co-Op fruit and veg box from the Organic Corner Store! It's fabulous!! Not only is this market fabulous for my awesome Co-Op box but it's also a really cool hangout place. They have so much on offer!

What is a Co-Op Box you ask?
As described by the Organic Corner Store website: "A co-op provides customers with certified organic, seasonal produce with minimal packaging. There is no mark up on the bulk order so customers are accessing reasonably priced certified organic produce. OCS order’s from a wholesaler. We divide and pack the boxes."

Checkout the amazing food I bought! (The box has some depth to it as well).

Okay, besides the beautiful organic fruit and veg we are now eating, we have also started cooking with "organic coconut oil" instead of other oils such as olive oil etc. I have to say that I'm truly loving this new experience. When roasting pumpkin I put coconut oil over it with salt and pepper and it is the most AMAZING tasting pumpkin ever! I literally do not use any other oil anymore. It's so freeing knowing that this oil is actually REALLY good for you as well.

Besides the above changes, we are also using cacao powder when making smoothies, homemade healthy chocolate, avocado cacao mousse and many other things! I'm officially addicted to "avocado mousse" that a friend of mine put me on to. I cannot get enough! We have also changed out our peanut butters, maple syrup and honey all for ORGANIC!

So to wrap this blog up, my husband and I are food LOVERS! We love to dine out and experience new, wonderful restaurants and taste exquisite dishes but what we've come to realise is that we can have that wonderful food experience right at home and let it be healthy for us too. I'm not saying we will stop eating out because it's also a lot of fun but I'm definitely making a HUGE effort to make amazing healthy, organic dishes at home as well.

God Bless,

A Proverbs 31 Wife

I recently realised a "blogging error" I've been making for not acknowledging where my pics come from so please forgive me! The above pic comes from: http://thehousefmparty.blogspot.com.au/

The Wife of Noble Character
A spoken word from the mother of King Lemuel

Proverbs 31:10-30

I'm going to spend a bit of time on the above scripture today and I guess give a clearer understanding of what is meant of the "Proverbs 31 wife". I'm sure there are many women who would appreciate this being interpreted into something more relatable for today's society so I'm going to give it ago. Let's start off by breaking down each verse.

10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
- This verse is quite simple really. A noble woman's value is much more than just material things or her outwardly appearance. It's truly about what's on the inside.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
- Self explanatory really. Her husband trusts her and believes full heartedly in her capabilities as a helper.

12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
- She is a faithful helpmate who uplifts her husband with  her words and actions. She is respectful and helps him to be a better man through Christ, Jesus.

13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
- This is where things begin to get interesting because the vast majority of us are no longer sewing garments for our families however, we do clothe our families by finding good deals and doing the legwork to find them.

14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
- Most wives and/or mother's usually do the grocery shopping right? I'm sure there are a few husbands out there doing this or sharing the duties as well however, my focus today is on the women. As women we usually search for affordable deals and healthier options for our families and sometimes that may mean travelling to organic produce markets etc. Even in today's society we are still doing this.

15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.
- I'm personally not a mother as yet but I do provide food for my husband and make sure that there is food prepared for him after he has finished a hard day at work. I am a homemaker, at times finances can be limited and as a helper I do my best to come up with nutritionally balanced meal options with whatever ingredients we have in the house.

As for the mother's out there, you are champions! I've played a motherly role whilst doing a nanny position a couple of years ago where I had to get up much earlier than the child so I could be showered, dressed and ready before he woke up. I then would have to make lunches, organise school bags, sort out breakfast and then wake him up and get him ready for school and then drop him off. This is all before 7:30am. Not to mention the rest of your daily chores such as either going to work or back home to clean, look after the younger children and then prepare dinner all before having to pick up the child/ren from school again. Oh and did I mention pay the bills, take children to appointments and do the grocery shopping as well!?! Mother's have a lot on their plate!

16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
- I would relate this to buying a house. Generally it's a joint decision between the husband and wife however, a lot of times you find that the wife deals with the nitty gritty stuff like, following up the loans, putting in an offer and filling out all the paperwork for settlement etc. In today's society there would be a lot less women being able to just afford a "field" on her own savings however, I'm sure if we could, we would!

17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
- Pretty self explanatory. Women whether they are homemaker's (with or without children), paid workers or both are always working vigorously to meet the needs of their loved ones.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.
- Her "trading" could be either the paid worker who helps provide an income to the family salary and/or the homemaker who is vigorously working in the home completing the many chores. In regards to the "lamp", bills are being paid in a timely fashion.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
- Again this is like verse 13. Majority of people aren't doing too much sewing unless it's their hobby or they happen to be really talented at it and have started a side business. Majority of today's society, especially in Western society buy their clothes from affordable outlet stores or online.

20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
- Most people would do their best to help out the less fortunate if they could. I won't say all because there are many people male and female out there that turn a blind eye to those in need but a Proverbs 31 wife see's those in need as an opportunity to serve The Lord. Some people don't have much time t0 spare however, they can provide financial assistance and other's cannot afford to provide the finances but can definitely volunteer their time.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
- This one can be tough simply because everyone economic standards are different and some people are really struggling to keep a roof over their families heads and on the other side of the spectrum there are people being able to give their families anything and everything they ever need. I think it's important to note that a Proverbs 31 wife would aim to have her family dressed in warm clothes and in a warm household but even if she couldn't provide those things due to circumstances, I can guarantee she would give her own warm clothes off her back to keep her children warm if she had too. The one thing to take note on is that a Proverbs 31 wife shouldn't fear because she knows that God will provide if she puts her full faith in him.

22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
- Some women may sew bed linen and/or clothes but the majority of us will be sure to buy those things so our families are warm at night.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
- This one could relate to your husband being respected in the general community and/or at church and through his strong, faith centred foundation he has become a respectable member of society.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.
- Maybe you have a side business you run from home, baking, making things that you can sell and you help provide an income or maybe you work a part time job. This obviously isn't for everyone in today's society and I think we need to remember that we play a unique part in the "whole" body of Christ so sewing or making things may not be your God given talent. We cannot have everyone completing the same tasks in life otherwise there would be parts missing.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
- Let me tell you, women are STRONG! We are put through a lot in life and we still continue to bounce back with our heads held high, especially Christian women. We may come across as timid, or taking direction from our husband but boy do you have it all wrong! We are the helpmate, we are what keeps this ship afloat. If it weren't for women, men would be lonely and things would fall apart. (That's not to say men are weak or can't do things, NO!) God saw that Adam was lonely in the garden of Eden and needed a helper. If God could see the important role we would play then I think it's important to acknowledge what God saw within us before we were even created. We can laugh even during some of the toughest times of our lives and that ALL Christians because this is only our temporary home, we are waiting to return to where we belong. This world is fallen, expect fallen things to happen but hold your head high knowing that you are a precious child of God!

26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
- You ever noticed that women just seem to have that "natural" intuition? Well, I have and I know it's that because we are generally more the emotional being, we seem to be more in touch with our senses and more in touch with The Holy Spirit who dwells in us. I can't tell you how many times The Holy Spirit has warned me of dangers in my marriage before me even knowing about it. That nagging feeling on your heart, it is there for a reason. It is Gods way of showing us what we are facing and if we acknowledge it correctly in prayer he will direct us in how we can approach the situation. The important thing to remember is, it's all about the approach. Whether The Holy Spirit is warning you of a bad financial situation, a friendship, illness or even a marriage issue please pray on it and ask for guidance. When we don't we can come across as nagging mother's to our spouses and that is not what God intended. You have to be wise in all things you do. It's important to stay in the word of God, keeping the word on your tongue and in your heart. It will help with the times of trials. The more we learn from the word the wiser we will become.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
- This relates to number 25. Women are strong and we can be an amazing helper if we follow God's pattern for our lives. It's a woman's role to not only support her husband in his decision making, to support his many dreams but it's also our job to watch over the affairs of our households. As husband and wife, brother's and sister's in Christ it is ALL our jobs to keep one another accountable. Nowhere in the bible does it say that a woman should just allow her husband to rule over her, we are equals to our husbands it's just that our husbands have a lot more responsibility on their shoulders. They have to answer to God if they lead their families astray, that is their responsibility, not ours. However, we are to definitely in a loving manner show them the errors of their ways and vice versa. It's no walk in the park ladies and gentlemen. Not eating bread from idles can be many things in todays society such as not getting involved in things that don't glorify our God as an over all perspective.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
- Isn't this just a beautiful picture!?! Oh, I could just live in this blessed bubble all the days of my life.... haha. Okay back to reality we go. Yes, there will be moments in our lives where our children for those of you who are mothers will acknowledge you with love and affection. Big open armed hugs running towards you, telling you that "you're the best mummy/mommy in the world!" There will be those beautiful moments when your husband acknowledges your hard efforts and tells you, "You are the most beautiful woman in the world, I love you dearly" and your heart will melt. However, there will be the times when you're butting heads with your spouse and your children seem like absolute crazy little people who seem to despise you..... at least this is what I hear... Welcome to the real world people!! Let me tell you these are all normal because we live in a fallen world with fallen people who are selfish and self absorbed and yet somehow we have to come together and make this caos work. Only through Christ Jesus who gives us strength!

29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
- Look, we all like to believe this is so and maybe just maybe this is how our husbands view us.... Husbands if you don't you better start believing it because God has blessed you with an amazing woman. She is your treasure. If you treat her as such you will reap the benefits. You reap what you sow. Anyway ladies, we need to remember the importance of amplifying our God, not ourselves. The word "humble" comes to mind. We are all equals in this world, all given many God given talents to use to help one another, not to "outdo" each other.

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
- I think that this verse is one of my favourites. One thing we have to realise is that the world we live in is setup to make us all fail. It's setup to cause women of all ages to have a self image problem. Beauty is fleeting. We are all going to get old throughout the days of our lives and if we continue to put our focus on our outward beauty we are going to become very distraught as time goes by. That is why it's important for us to clearly understand that our identity is in Christ, not in the latest fashion, what size clothing you wear, whether your hair is kept a certain way, whether you caking on a gag load of makeup or whether you keeping up with the latest fashion. As Christians, we should know better than to be so caught up in all these earthly things. Now, I'm not saying be a dag because the bible does talk about keeping yourself neat and tidy but there is WAY too much emphasis in the church these days on keeping up with latest trends. I see it all the time. I think it's time we start to put things in perspective a little more, truly accept our shortcomings, look to God for wise counsel on these matters especially what is acceptable to wear in public. You see it's our job as Christians to set the example not only for our younger brothers and sisters in Christ but also for the nonbelievers. What kind of message are you sending out to the world? Are you saying, I'm secure in who I am and that I don't need to be acknowledged based on my looks and what I wear because I know my worth in Christ OR are you saying I'm just as insecure as you nonbelievers, I fill the emptiness with your cheap compliments that hold me over only for a minute? Are you glorifying your God or are you glorifying your insecurities which we know only come from the enemy and are worldly things. Something to think about right?

31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
- I spoke on this in number 29 in regards to a husbands acknowledgement for all her hard efforts. I think it's also important as women to remember to not "go fishing" for compliments either. That comes from an insecurity issue as well and trying to get that ego boost or for someone to see your hard efforts. It's important to remember that we are doing the duty God set out for us and that we are to glorify God through our works and be happy that we did it for him, not for anyone else. If your husband notices well, bonus but don't let it be the focal point.

Phew! That was a lot to run down on. I think ultimately we have to realise that the Proverbs 31 woman if she lived today would be a "superwoman" beyond recognition and that it doesn't really give a realistic view on people as a whole. The other thing to remember is that this specific scripture was more so intended for the view of what Christ is to the Church. So if we are to all play our God given, individual talents, each having a part in the total body of Christ then it would look something like the above scripture. We would all be working together to glorify our God as a team, bringing more people to Christ. Either way, remember you are GREAT! You are beautifully and wonderfully made! We all have areas of growth that God will work on with us over time. This life is a journey, not a final destination. Our final destination is back in the arms of our loving daddy in heaven where the worries of this world will just slip away!

God Bless You!

Modern Slavery - Human Trafficking

Beautiful Slave by Take No Glory

God has laid "modern day slavery" on my heart to make people more aware of what is happening worldwide as we speak. More specifically God has put the small innocent lives on my heart, the children whom are caught up in human trafficking. All though they are not the only ones being mistreated this is the area of conviction he has laid on my heart. Many men, women and children are being tricked into these awful situations and/or stolen straight off the street. This is not just a third world issue. Statistics show that human trafficking for sex and/or labor is happening right in your backyard.

"Human trafficking affects every country around the world, regardless of socio-economic status, history, or political structure. Human traffickers have created an international market for the trade in human beings based on high profits and demand for commercial sex and cheap labor. Trafficking affects 161 countries worldwide.

An estimated 27 million men, women and children are trafficked for commercial sex or forced labor around the world today. Victims are trafficked both within and across international borders. Migrants as well as internally displaced persons are particularly vulnerable.

There is a growing recognition of the links between labor trafficking, regulation of supply chains, and the power of the consumer to end widespread exploitation by choosing goods that aren't tainted by forced or child labor. The US Department of Labor has identified 122 goods produced with forced labor, child labor, or both, in 58 countries."
www.polarisproject.org

"Children, women and men are being brought here (worldwide) and forced to work as slave labour in the sex industry, domestic servitude, street crime and in the production of drugs. They are mentally and physically abused, deprived of their basic human rights and allowed little or no contact with the outside world."

"Much of the chocolate that finds its way into our shops and homes is made with cocoa from plantations that use trafficked children.- www.stopthetraffik.org

"Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing and most lucrative crimes in the U.S. and in the world because, unlike ammunition or drugs, human beings can be exploited and sold repeatedly for profit. In the U.S., hundreds of thousands are victims of labor and commercial sexual abuse, including an estimated 250,000 children ages 10-17. According to the U.S. Department of State, 21 million people—mostly women and children—are trapped in modern-day slavery worldwide.

The United Nations reports that 80 percent of victims are exploited as commercial sex slaves, and many others are forced to perform labor in homes and sweatshops. Criminals earn an estimated $32 billion yearly." - www.state.gov

These statistics are absolutely mind blowing and this doesn't cover all the ones gone unnoted or unfound. The fact of the matter is, that "Human Trafficking" is a serious issue that is only getting worse. God NEVER intended for his children to be treated and abused in such a way. This is the work of satan!! We are all precious children of God and he calls us to help those in need. We cannot turn a blind eye to this situation and just assume it's going to go away or that someone else has a handle on it. WAKE UP! This is a global crisis affecting people throughout the whole world. Think about it, it could be your mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, your cousin, your friend or even someone in your community next!

As recent as today I came across an amazing woman who was caught up in the "Sex Trafficking" trade many years ago. Nancy is an amazing survivor with a huge testimony to share. This woman is not afraid to share her heart wrenching story. She is one of God's miracles to us and everyone she comes in contact with. Nancy has a Facebook page called: Human Trafficking and Sexual Violence Awareness. Please visit this page and show your support not only to Nancy but to all the people she represents. Nancy also has a website called "Nancy Curra" Please click these links and show your support  against human trafficking.

The more aware we all become, the more equipped we will be to help in some way. God wants us to help his children. He wants us to reach out our hand and be like Christ to those in need. Whether it's spreading the word, donating money to the many organisations that are available, running a fundraiser or simply speaking to your local church/government and trying to set up an "Anti Human Trafficking Community Group". Do whatever you can to make a difference. Remember, it only takes one person to get the ball rolling. Let that person be you!

May God open your eyes to what is going on around you! Recently a documentary was released called "Trade Of Innocents" which covers this exact topic. Please see the trailer below.

God Bless You All!

A Saint wanting Slavery to end!
'

What would you do with a do over?

My husband and I are going through and have gone through a lot of trials in our marriage and we had both gone through struggles before marriage. Like most of you, this life hasn't been a walk in the park. Most of you realise that life's struggles catch up with you at some point or another. If your life is pretty amazing at the moment, truly thank God for his blessings upon you. Pray for wisdom and strength to help you endure the future struggles that will at some stage come your way. If you are currently in the valley of the shadow of death where things seem so hopeless, thank God for the stretching of your faith and stay hopeful knowing that it can't last forever!

There are times my husband and I talk about the life we are looking forward to in heaven and being hopeful that we will still be really close friends up there. You see, life here has been such a strain on both of us and we are just looking forward to the eternal life of joy. We joke around about when God creates the new world that we'd get a proper do over on our marriage free from the reminders of the tainted, hurtful past we are having to overcome and just being like innocent, sinless children who have nothing but love for one another is what we would desire.

As we all know, God gives us many opportunities in this life to put things the way they are meant to be. Only problem is I can never forget the devastations of this life until I leave it so that is why I speak of a literal do over. You see, my heart will always choose my husband, in this life and in the next. My only problem is that in this life I cannot seem to let go of the wrongs done to me. Now, I understand forgiveness and I have to practise it daily but no matter what, some things just cannot be undone. Life is not how I saw it going for my husband and I but I guess it's important to remember that this life is not my own.

So anyway, this hypothetical scenario is the acknowledgement of my little girl dreams. It is where I get to hold my hope because hope for this life I currently live in  has been lost. Maybe and prayerfully it's only temporarily but either way it isn't what it once was and God only has the answer to my problems now and until forever. I know in my heart of hearts that God wants me to carry joy wherever I go but I'm afraid that light that use to burn so bright inside of me is now a little flame. Not completely blown out but it's on it's way out but it's in Gods safe hands. The next move belongs to him...

Wouldn't life be nice if we could have a literal do over in this lifetime? I know I'd be the first to jump at it but instead I just have to do the best with what I've got. I know that my life and marriage is in God's hands and that he will turn all our hurts and pains into something beautiful because God will not let us go through these struggles without having something more beautiful to look forward to on the other side. Problem is having the patience to wait for God's perfect timing. It truly shouldn't be that difficult since it's in perfect timing but yet our weak fleshly ways keep us crying out for the changes to come much sooner. I know we as a couple struggle with this.

So I guess what I'm getting at is that I understand how life can be a struggle beyond a measure you thought you'd never be able to deal with. You are not alone. I am there right alongside you but more importantly, God is there with you. Walking you through the hardest and biggest obstacles you may be facing right now. Don't give up, even though you feel like there is no other way, there is a way..... It's God's way! Look to the heavens, give thanks for the things he has provided and have hope for the things yet to come.

God Bless!

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!
